A worldwide leader in automated assembly and testing solutions required a system for leak testing prismatic battery cells. Their specifications required multiple test chambers and built-in automation for the testing process. 

LACO custom engineered an automated leak test system with 4 test chambers that can be run simultaneously. Each chamber includes a dedicated roughing pump and a hydraulic system for closing and sealing the chamber. The system utilizes the hard vacuum helium test method with a helium mass spectrometer leak detector for high sensitivity, test reliability, uptime, and fast cycle times. The system incorporates a gross leak test prior to the helium test.
