This innovative, patent pending, leak testing method extends the sensitivity of traditional vacuum decay leak testing down to leak measurements below 1 x 10-4 atmcc/sec (0.006 sccm). By testing to deeper vacuum levels, combined with our proprietary noise subtraction techniques, this method can detect very small leaks and be used in some applications where only helium tracer gas methods were feasible. This technique is often used to measure out-leakage from a test part into a vacuum chamber. Pyrotechnic airbag inflator testing is one application where this method offers many advantages, including eliminating the need for helium tracer gas and reducing the cost and complexity of the test equipment.
