A/C Components and complete A/C Systems in automotive applications require leak testing to prevent loss of refrigerant that will limit the life and performance of the system as well as potential harm the environment.
Test methods such as helium hard vacuum, and equipment (including helium leak detectors) are used to leak test these components and systems. Smaller components are often tested using the helium vacuum method, whereas complete systems are typically leak tested using sniffing methods.
