Accumulation Leak Test Systems

The Helium Accumulation Leak Test Method is often used when the sensitivity of the helium hard vacuum method is not required. Typical leak rates for this method are 10^-4 atmcc/sec and larger. Normally, this method is used to measure out-leakage of a part filled with helium and placed in an accumulation test chamber. The test part can be pre-filled with helium tracer gas and sealed or it can be filled with helium while inside the accumulation test chamber. Additionally, for larger parts with only a few potential locations for leaks (e.g, an automotive A/C hose), small clam shell accumulation chambers can be strategically placed over the locations for site-specific leak testing.
